How to master that thing you've always wanted to learn!
Is there something you've always wanted to learn but have never had the chance? Maybe it's decorating a cake, playing the guitar, dancing in a show, painting a picture or growing your own vegetables.
The problem is, you've never had the courage to get it going. Now is as good a time as any to just believe in yourself and let your talent shine. If at first you don't succeed, try, try, try again. We love this quote because it speaks about never giving up!
Try these tips and get started today:
Get first-hand experience
Find someone you know or admire that is really talented at what you're wanting to learn. Ask them if they would be willing to give you advice or let you shadow them for a few days to gain some valuable behind-the-scenes information. Don't be afraid to ask loads of questions, even if you think they seem silly.
Learn from others
Find a tutorial online or look for a local course in your area that you could attend. You'll be amazed at how much you can learn from online tutorials, often for free! If it’s possible for you, attending a course may open up other doors too, you could meet some great contacts and perhaps even find an internship or job.
Don’t give up
Remember that the person you admire wasn't born brilliant at their talent, they worked hard to learn their skills and get to where they are today. They may have felt unmotivated at some point or that everyone else was better than them, we all have those days. The key to success is to push through the negativity and the hard times and never give up.
Ask for support
Tell your family or caregiver about the skill you’re wanting to learn, why you’re excited about it and what you’re doing to learn more. A great way to build your relationship with them is to ask them for help when you need it, or tell them you’d appreciate any input that they can give.
So, now that you’ve decided you’re going to master your dreams, remember that we all have good days and bad days. Focus on the good, forget the bad and show everyone how talented you are!
